Design of Adders with Current-mode Gates

چکیده

The paper deals with the problem of designing digital circuits based on the current-mode gates novel digital elements operating with constant, continuous power supply current. The purpose is the provision of a high level of the noise immunity of the chips which compose both analog and digital circuits. The logical properties of this gate basis and several identities for conversing expressions from Boolean basis are represented. Based on these properties and expressions, two approaches to minimizing the current-mode logic functions are proposed. Finally, examples of the functional schemes of various one-bit adders with current gates is presented. The obtained circuits are designed by means the proposed approaches and are characterized by smaller hardware overheads in comparison with similar ones based on others types of gates.
